PSB on new server. Malicious code found.

November 24th, 2008

Welcome to the new server.  I’ve had to move PSB and my many other sites to a new dedicated server.  Some of my other sites got way too big and needed their own space, not shared with any other sites.

So the good news is that since I’m able to post this blog, the site is running correctly on the new server.

Malicious code found

The bad news is that I found an encrypted bit of code in the config file here.  Some spambot had hacked in and put a bunch of junk in there.  That code is now gone.

Now back to our regularly scheduled blogram.

1st direct impact the economic situation has on me

November 21st, 2008

One of my vendors emailed today. I’ve been working with them for eight years and I valued them as a supplier. They’re closing on November 24th.

This sucks. I have a few suppliers in this category but I don’t like hearing that my choices are dwindling.

Hendrix drummer Mitch Mitchell dead

November 12th, 2008

I was saddened to hear that one of the most pioneering and best drummers of the 60’s and 70’s, Mitch Mitchell died. Mitchell was a bad ass drummer and laid down some of the coolest grooves I’ve ever heard on many Jimi Hendrix tunes.

I was even more surprised, and happy, to hear that it appears he died in a Portland hotel of natural causes. No drugs I hope.

Here’s to you Mitch. Thanks for all the great grooves and awesome fills. We all know you kicked John Bonham’s ass.

Final thoughts on the new Filter Album

November 2nd, 2008

Amalgamut and Title Of Record are two of the most rockin’ and kick ass albums ever. The new Filter album Anthems For The Damned, though sonically good, doesn’t come close to having the balls and edge the two previous albums did.

I guess when rock & roll musicians get older they lose their edge? Or as my friend Matt theorizes, perhaps Robert Patrick being “clean” had something to do with it.

I still like the album, but I was hoping for another ball crushing release.
